CW 2 Weekly Research
WEEK 8
13th - 19th September
This week I planned the Gantt chart and the timeline of the prototyping, testing, and revealing. Moreover, drafted the usability test example roughly and finished the story plot.

How to draft the usability test example below
Objective:
- To see if the audience can interact with the digital story smoothly and understand it with the key frames.
Test Goals:
- to understand if the story is understood with the key frames
- To see If the frames are linking correctly to the story plot.
- Can users understand the interaction buttons easily?
- What did they understand from the story?
Usability test audience
I can send it to the people I interviewed earlier or young children. As this is an educational tool it is applicable to anyone.

How is tested
Using Invision Studio. Through a video call and sharing the screen or in person with the laptop. Since it is a prototype 1 it is not the most refined version.
Prototyping
you can pretest survey and post test survey
- Test plan 1-2 days
- Survey Forms
- Identify 5 participants

WEEK 9
20th - 26th September
During week 9, i was planning the storyboards along with drafting the user testing survey form. The storyboard will allow me to understand the story flow easier and plan the frames for the prototype. The storyboard is very rough. Below is the draft for the usability test for the first prototype which i will be conducting in week 12. In the next few weeks i will be trying to complete the work necessary for the prototypes
The goal of this digital story (finished product) is to raise awareness that your decisions have an impact in the big picture. You may not realize it, but these decisions play a huge role.
Usability Test Survey (Post Test)
Note that this is the first prototype. This is an interactive digital story but in this first prototype it will be keyframes and it is without the color. Moreover, this prototypes aim is to understand if the story links correctly and makes sense to the viewer.
1. Do users think the digital story could raise awareness about waste pollution
and lifestyle?
YES NO
2. When you explored the story, did you become confused at any point? Which part?
YES NO
3. Were there any story links that was not in place? Describe?
YES NO
4. Can users understand the interaction buttons easily?
YES NO
5. What did they understand from the story? Describe it using your own words?

WEEK 10
27th September - 3rd October
This week i am currently working on the key frames according to the storyboard and Gantt chart. The frames are progressing according to plan.
The first prototype is a low fidelity one. For this one I will be using grayscale version of the prepared illustration frames as it is not the final one. Furthermore, this will allow me more time to adjust the colors and prepare the final one with a more finished outcome.

WEEK 12
11th - 17th October
This week I did the prototype testing and reviewing. The responses receive were good and now I can proceed to make the necessary changes for the final prototype. In the final prototype there will be colour. It will have a more finished look and will be more appealing to the audiences because of the vibrant colour pallet.
Below is the prototype link and the usability test survey link. The participants I used for the first prototype was close family and friends. I tested using 5 people just to make sure that the audience can understand the test goals.

WEEK 13
18th - 24th October
Responses:
This clean up gave me the insight that talking about it isn’t only going to help but kids need to actively engage and see the damage to be able to fully grasp how big of a threat plastic pollution can be for the earth. During this clean-up it was mostly swimmers and parents of Maldives Lifeguard association cleaning up the swimming area they practice in. To my surprise there was more pollution lurking in the depths that we don’t see.
Below I have attached some pictures received from the clean-up I participated. They do clean-ups most weekends to minimize the amount that floats around. Since the sea is an open space, most waste is not directly dumped into that area but however with the currents and waves they do end up in this space as well. This clean up made me understand the importance of volunteer work and participation with people in society.
